Registers of Scotland are inviting crofters and their families throughout Scotland to take part in a ‘click your croft’ photography competition.

The competition, run in association with the Scottish Crofting Federation and the Crofting Commission, aims to find out more about what this traditional way of life means to crofters in 2014 and offers crofters the chance to win a Canon EOS 700D Digital SLR camera and accessories.

ABOUT THE COMPETITION
This competition is a celebration of crofters and croft land. Photos should express the elements that
the photographer loves best about crofting and could depict people, landscapes, machinery, plants
and so on. Photographs must be taken on crofting land and should be a recognisable representation
of the subject matter. Photographs may have been/be taken in any season or during any period in
time.

PRIZES
The winner of the competition will be awarded:

 1 x Canon EOS 700D Digital SLR Camera with 18-55mm STM & 55-250mm Lenses, HD 1080p,
18MP and a 3" LCD Touch Screen
 1 x Canon 100EG Padded Camera & Gadget Bag
 1 x Integral Ultimapro 8GB, Class 10 SDHC Memory Card, up to 20MB/s

The two runners up will be awarded a framed print of their image.
 Photographs must be submitted in digital format as a jpeg.
 The submitted file size must be no more than 1MB but entrants must hold a high resolution version of the photo, minimum 1000 x 800, 300 DPI, to be available in the event of winning.
 Entries can be submitted on CD or emailed to communications[AT]ros.gov.uk
 Entries will not be accepted without a completed entry form.
 Photos may be in landscape or portrait format.
 Photographers may submit up to a maximum of 4 images.
 Photographs and accompanying entry form must be submitted by 12pm on 14th April 2014.
