Wick RBLS Pipe Band Donation

Wick RBLS Pipe Band has received a donation of £200 from the Nethcliffe Hotel. The money was raised from a “Guess where Santa lost his parcel” competition held in the hotel. The answer, drawn at random was “Dorrery” and the winner was Mhairi Allan of the Crown Bar. She won a Christmas goodie hamper.

John Bogle, band secretary accepted the cheque from Nethercliffe proprietor Mervyn Hill and said “The pipe band is very grateful for the continuing support of the Nethercliffe Hotel and we would like to thank the proprietors, staff and customers of the hotel for this generous donation.

The money is particularly welcome as we are facing major expenditure in 2014. We will be buying 10 new snare drums and 1 new bass drum, plus we are taking a big band on a return visit to Germany in July. We also hope to carry out major maintenance and improvement works to the Pipe Band Hall.”
