Castle of Mey Bat Walk
Sunday 22nd September, 7pm – 9pm
Use our bat detectors to help search for and learn about the local bats in the grounds of the Castle of Mey. Wrap up warm and bring a torch.

Latheron Navigation Walk
Sunday, 29th September, 11am – 2pm
Enjoy a guided walk at Latheron and learn some of the very basics of using a map and compass. We will teach you how to begin navigating as we search for some of the hidden archealogical remains in the area. Suitable walking gear required. Booking essential.

Running Rivers Series, Walk 6: Dunbeath Water
Sunday, 6th October, 11am – 4pm
Starting at the Old Mill, this walk will follow the river to Tutnaguail cemetery, returning by the track. As this event ties in with the Highland Archaeology Festival, we will also visit the chambered cairns at Cnoc Na Maranaich and Dunbeath broch on the way. Approximately 10km. Walking boots, water proofs and packed lunch required. Rough walking in parts.

Priest’s Stone and Rocking Stone
Saturday 12th October, 11am
As part of the Highland Archaeological Festival join the ranger on a guided walk at Strathy to see the Christianised Pictish Priest’s Stone and then on to the Rocking Stone used to call the clan in local folklore. Fairly demanding walk which may be wet underfoot. Suitable walking gear required. Booking essential.
